Grand Rapids, Michigan—A new poll released Sunday evening shows the race for Michigan Governor in a dead heat - a statistical tie at 48 percent. Tudor Dixon has blown away all expectations, delivering a strong debate performance and talking about the issues that matter to voters. Meanwhile, Gretchen Whitmer has spent tens of millions of dollars campaigning on a single issue as she works to run from her dismal record in office.
The four polls released in the last two weeks show the race tightening quickly, averaging Whitmer +2.6, and RCP moved the November 8th race prediction to a "GOP Pick-Up" with Dixon +2.5.
Dixon is surging, with the momentum on her side and independent voters breaking in her favor. Whitmer and Dixon will meet for their second and final debate tomorrow, October 25th, at Oakland University.
