Grand Rapids, Michigan—This week, it was revealed through the release of official Michigan Department of Education training videos that the department is instructing teachers how to help children sexually transition and recommending that teachers hide a child’s “chosen name and pronouns” from their parents, even if their child is suicidal.
Michigan Gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon issued the following response:
"It is astonishing that the activist-run education department is officially training teachers to hide important information from parents about their children at all, but it is unconscionable that they believe this is even appropriate when children are suicidal. They are targeting and confusing our children at the most critical time in their development, telling them to use outrageous gender neutral phrases like 'earthlings' instead of boys and girls.
"What is wrong with these people? Make no secret about it - our own state agency is being weaponized to actively recruit our kids and advance their radical gender theory with zero input from parents.
"My position is very clear: Our schools need to stop pushing radical sex and gender theory and instead get back to teaching kids how to read, write, and do math.
"Does Gretchen Whitmer agree with me? Will she condemn this radical and dangerous nonsense? She owes parents an answer. Will the media do their jobs and demand she give them one as she hides behind attack ads totally lying about my position on public education?”
